Who Team is for

If you are a solo power user, start with Pro vs Max or the Max plan. If you need SCIM, audit logs, custom retention, and usage billed at API rates on top of seats, look at Enterprise below.

Rough annual math (US, pre-tax): 10 Standard seats on annual billing are about 10 × $20 × 12 = $2,400 / year. The same headcount on Premium annual is about $12,000 / year. That is seat access with included usage allowances, not an unlimited token invoice.

Practical read: Standard is “Pro-plus for people who share an org.” Premium is for power users who would otherwise keep bumping Max-like walls, without moving the whole company to Enterprise usage billing.

Team vs Max trap: Buying five individual Max seats is not the same as Team. You miss central admin, shared projects, and org spend controls. Conversely, putting a solo freelancer on Team just to chase Premium capacity is usually the wrong shape.
Team vs Enterprise trap: Enterprise’s roughly $20 seat looks cheaper than Team Standard on paper, but usage is billed at API rates. Model Enterprise as seat plus forecasted tokens, not seat alone. [VERIFY: 2026-09-17]
How to choose Standard vs Premium without guessing
- List roles that live in Claude daily, such as research, support macros, and engineering with Claude Code.
- Note who already hits weekly or session walls on Pro-like workloads.
- Start most seats on Standard; assign Premium only where limits block delivery.
- Turn on usage credits only after you understand who burns overflow and why.
